Remember him as a big old football player, probably one of our largest.

Ernie was a good friend of mine.  He loved to dance and we went to Milwaukee a lot to dance.  He also loved motorcycles.

From me:

I just have one memory of Ernie - I remember dancing with him once and I said something about being Italian too (remember how we pronounced his name De-lay-oh).  He corrected me (that he was Mexican descent) and told me how it should be pronounced Day lah OH.  I never forgot that and I loved how it sounded.  In fact, it's supposed to be spelled DeLaO.

I remember Ernie as the guy holding down the middle of the defensive line in football, has was a darn good wrestler and if I think he was a black(?) belt in martial arts. He was a good friend and always had your back. I would every so often see him out clubbing, he liked to be around people. Rest In Peace mi amigo.
