DEBBIE WILKEN  Oct 13 1952 - Jan. 13, 2000

Mrs. Debra Jean Wilken, R.N., 47, of 807 Kensington Drive, Niles, Mich., died at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday, Jan 13, at the Lakeland Medical Center - Niles.  Her death was unexpected, but of natural causes.  Born on Oct 13, 1952, in Milwaukee, WI., to Roland and Jeanne (Purdy) Preeshl, she was raised in Wisconsin, was a graduate from J.I. Case High School, Racine, Wis., in 1970, and from Saint Lukes School of Nursing, Racine, as a registered nurse in 1973.  She had lived in Niles since December 1984, coming from Brown County, Ind.  She was employed as a registered nurse at Riverridge Manor, Niles, where she enjoyed working with and caring fro the elderly folks.  She also enjoyed shopping and reading.  Debbie is well-known and best remembered as a loving wife to Glen A. Wilken to whom she was married on April 20, 1991, in Niles.  He survives.  She is also survived by her sons, Ryan Monroe Desmond, Nicholas Joseph Desmond, Ryan Scott Wilken and Kevin James Wilken, all of Niles, to whom she was a dedicated mother, serving as a coach in the Optimist Soccer program, and following their participation in high school soccer and basketball.  She is also survived by her parents, Jeanne and Roland Preeshl of Racine, and by a sister, Penny Bredermeier of Aurora, Ill.  Mass of Christian Burial for Debra Jean Wilken will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, January 17 at Saint Mary Catholic Church, Niles, by the Rev. Canon Marian M. Kencik of the church.  Committal Services will be held privately at a later date at the graveside in Silverbrook Cemetery, Niles.  The Family will reveive friends from 2 to 5 p.m. today in the Halbritter Funeral Homes, Niles, with recitation of the Rosary at 5 p.m.  Contributions in memory of Mrs. Wilken may be made to Brandywine High School 's Project Graduation or to the Soccer Program.
